The socks have a cozy wooly feeling. They do pill a little but it doesn't diminish the overall quality. I am a size 9 shoe and the socks fit me to a tee. I air dried one pair and accidentally machine dried one pair on high heat but they came out the same. The cute deer face adds the right touch of whimsy.
